De Meet organizes two weekly trainings on Monday and Thursday. For each training we gather at the Tilburg University Sports Center around 6:30PM. The trainings on Monday are on the closed cycling track of TWC Pijnenburg (Reeshof, Tilburg). These trainings involve several technical exercises guided by a licensed trainer to improve our bike handling and racing skills. After the training we go to the Tilburg University sports bar to enjoy a drink together!
On Thursday we go out for a social ride on the magical roads around Tilburg. Each week we ride our famous 54km route which we call "Meetrondje". Apart from having a nice chat with one another during the ride, there is also the opportunity to participate in one of our three Meet sprints during this training. During the trainings we take everyone’s physical level and condition into account. Thus, no matter if you are a beginner in road cycling or an elite rider, everyone is warmly welcomed! Because of our wide variety of riders, you will definitely find riders of you level.
As leaves are falling from the trees and the sun gets down earlier, De Meet goes into the winter season. Starting from mid October, we move our Thursday trainings to the afternoon to prevent riding in the dark. The Thursday route is also changed weekly during winter to explore other beautiful areas around Tilburg. The Monday trainings remain unchanged during the year since the racing track is equipped with lights. Sometimes the weather is too bad and it is not possible to ride outside. Then we do a spinning session or some strength training in the Tilburg University Sports Center.
Are you a beginner without a bike? No problem! We have a few loan bikes that you can use completely free of charge to try out the sport.
Additionally, we organize introduction training sessions specifically designed for beginners. These sessions are at an easy pace, making them perfect for those just starting out.
