Chairman: Guus van der Sijpt

My name is Guus and I am really excited to be chairman for De Meet, the place which has made me fall in love with cycling even more. I’ve called De Meet home for about a year but have gotten to know it well and look forward to welcoming new faces to our lovely association

I’m 19 years old, starting with the final year of my philosophy bachelor, and I really like clearing my mind on the bike as philosophy can be quite taxing on the mind.

Vice-Chairwoman: Daphne Veldhuis

A year ago, I got on a road bike for the very first time, simply to add some variety to my running training. What started as a few rides quickly turned into a new passion.

I’m Daphne, 20 years old, and next year I’ll start my third year of Economics & Business Economics at Tilburg University.

From my first ride, I was struck by the welcoming atmosphere and the great combination of beautiful rides and even better company.

As Vice-Chairwoman, I want to give back to the association that has brought me so much joy over the past year.

I’m excited to work together with the board, committees and members to make this a memorable year for De Meet.

Secretary: Jasmijn van der Ham

Hi, my name is Jasmijn, I will be filling the role of candidate secretary of De Meet. I am 20 years old and am currently in my second year of International Business Administration (IBA) at Tilburg University. This past year of being a member of De Meet and all the special connections and memories I have made mean so much to me. As Chris Whitaker said in my favorite book, All the Colors of the Dark: “Memories lie in people, not places and things”. I am incredibly excited and motivated to create even more fun and unforgettable memories during my time as secretary. This board year will be a blast!

Treasurer and Commissioner of internal affairs and committees: Daphne Van der Loo

My name is (also) Daphne and I am 21 years old. I study Work and Organizational Psychology and one year ago I joined De Meet. During the start of my studies I did not cycle much, but after an intro training I rediscovered how amazing and fun cycling is. Especially at such an enthusiastic association.

As treasurer and commissioner of internal affairs and committees, I have several responsibilities. I will keep track of the finances of the association and look for opportunities to keep improving the association. I will also try to make sure that within the association all members are as happy as possible and that no one feels left out. So please come talk to me! I love getting to know people and hearing about their ideas for the association. I will also keep an overview on the progress of all the committees within De Meet and help them where possible.

I am really looking forward to all the fun that we will have this year and cycling many more kilometers!

PR COmmissioner: FLeur Hopmans

My name is Fleur Hopmans, and I’m 22 years old. This year, I’ll be starting my second year of the SPECO Sports Communication study at Fontys. That’s why I see this as a great opportunity to combine my studies with a year on the board as PR Commissioner

I took up cycling about three years ago when I took part in Alpe ‘d HuZes. I had to train a lot for this and discovered my love for cycling. After this challenge, I continued to enjoy cycling but wanted to challenge myself again, so I started competing in races.

As PR Commissioner, I’m looking forward to make nice stories from our members to let them show how beautiful our association is.

Stefan-Andrei barbu

My name is Stefan-Andrei Barbu. I am 19 years old and, in the following study year, I will be Race commissioner within De Meet.

I am currently in my second year studying Digital Culture and Society, aiming for a future career in the domain of (sports) journalism and media.

I have been cycling professionally for almost 10 years now and have raced multiple UCI and UEC races, which I find to be important advantages when it comes to my position in the board. I will be your point of contact when it comes to matters regarding racing for De Meet. I am very excited to fill this role within our association and do so while enjoying every ride with you all!
